It’s that time the term again. Reflection Time!!
As we wind towards the September holidays and attempt to book a seat On the Bus for the 6/7 PEP, we need to refleect upon our term’s work and effort.
- Have you worked well in class?
- Have you completed all of yourwork and assignments?
- Have you participated in all learning activities?
- Have you produced quality work? Worked to the best of your ability?
How have you gone? What have been your highlights?
In what ways have you let yourself down? Could have done better?
Write a post on your blog that shows your honest reflection.

The has been an overwhelming response indicating that we need a new look for our blog.
Most people recommended more colour and a bit more trendy.
I will play with our site and you can continue to give your opinion.
If you post your opinion remember that I would like more than one word answers.

Welcome New Bloggers and Old,
Before we can launch into a year of brilliant blogging we need to decide on a design for our class blog.
The design we have at the moment was changed at the end of last year . We may decide to keep it or we can choose a new look and feel.
What do you think?

Plants and animals are being driven to extinction at an alarming rate, and wild places are coming under increasing pressure from human beings
There are now 41,415 species on the IUCN Red List and 16,306 of them are threatened with extinction, up from 16,118 last year. This includes both endangered animals and endangered plants.
In the last 500 years, human activity is known to have forced 820 species to extinction (or extinction in the wild).
Follow the links below to find out more about threatened species.
What animal would you like to save from extinction?

6/7 B Bloggers
As part of your animal project you are required to write a post or a page about your animal.
It will need to include:
- Some interesting information
- Some pictures/images
- A link/links to good websites about your animal
You will be assessed on this as part of your literacy/Sose.
P.S Have a look at Ms Wyatt’s class blog and some of the blogs on her blogroll for ideas

Have you ever thought why we use different names for animals.
For example why do we call a “Shark – a shark”, and a “Dog, a Dog”?
Scientists like to know exactly what each animal, plant and other organsims are so they have developed a way of identifying each and every one.
With plants and animals scientists use something they called a dichotomas key.
This is a way of looking at the physical characterisitcs of all the animals by using a series of questions.
We looked at the Classification Chart in class, now see if you can correctly identify some animals.
click on the link below to use the dichotomas key

First, try the ones in the online actvity then write your own list of animals to classify. But first you will need to find out the scientific name of that animal.

What type of sportsperson would you be? Want to find out?!!!
I did the quiz, and found out that – If I was a sports person I’d be a Volleyball player!

because …….. You are a people person. You like to be around all sorts, and thrive in a team environment. You also are drawn to boundaries, such as those provided by nets, court lines and mainstream music — why rock the boat? At the same time, travelling by air is the only way to go
Click on this link and complete the quiz to find out what type you would be.
Make a comment about what type of sportsperson you are.
