Australia, a young nation and a loyal member of the British Empire willingly joined the the war in support of the ‘mother country’.
When Australian and New Zealand soldiers went into battle on the Gallipoli peninsula, Turkey on April 25th 1915, their enthusiasm and naivety was soon tested in the reality and the horror of the nine months of struggle known as the Gallipoli campaign.
The ANZAC tradition was born at this campaign. It is tradition that has endured and strengthened.
Do you know what actually happened in Gallipoli? Have you heard of Simpson and his Donkey?

How would you describe the Anzac legend or spirit?
Why is it considered so important?
Prepare a personal response explaini9ng what you think the anzac legend is and what it means to you, your family and the local community.
What does it mean to Australia as a nation?

Do you think swearing can be intimidating? Scary?
Can swearing be seen as a form of bullying?
Whether you never swear or know that you swear too much we want to know your opinions on bad language and the impact swearing cna have on those around you.

Have you ever thought why we use different names for animals.
For example why do we call a “Shark – a shark”, and a “Dog, a Dog”?
Scientists like to know exactly what each animal, plant and other organsims are so they have developed a way of identifying each and every one.
With plants and animals scientists use something they called a dichotomas key.
This is a way of looking at the physical characterisitcs of all the animals by using a series of questions.
We looked at the Classification Chart in class, now see if you can correctly identify some animals.
click on the link below to use the dichotomas key
http://students.ed.qut.edu.au/n2364379/MDB377/DKkoala2.html
First, try the ones in the online actvity then write your own list of animals to classify. But first you will need to find out the scientific name of that animal.
